More Details

I offer consultations, care coordination, and medication management to all ages. An initial consultation consists of two 60 minute sessions for adults and three 60 minute sessions for children/adolescents.  During this time, I will hear your concerns, get to know you, review records, obtain collateral information, and put together a comprehensive treatment plan.  I view and treat my patients as a whole person, keeping in mind the various parts that make up a person’s well-being.  The biopsychosocial model of health:

Well-Being

If we decide to work together, we will agree upon a course of treatment that will be personalized for you.  This may include, but is not limited to, individual therapy, medications, physical activity, healthy eating, or various group activities.  I want to help promote your physical health in addition to mental health as they are clearly connected, to help you with your personal goals, and to optimize your overall well-being.

Practice Style

I work best with people interested in, open to, and ready for change.  I grew up with an insatiable curiosity for understanding human behavior – what makes us do the things we do, what blocks us from our full potential, what motivates us to get and feel better, how do we live a meaningful fulfilling life?  I come from a family of engineers and one of my strengths is the ability to apply outside-the-box thinking, systematic problem solving skills, to help my fellow human beings figure out how to move forward.  I am proactive in my care.  Every patient I work with has their story, unique background and difficulties that I work to understand.  I spend my free time caring for myself and my family, hanging out with loved ones in my communities, and playing ice hockey.  I love learning about how to improve and optimize physical and mental health.  I practice what I preach.  I take pride in my curiosity and ability to connect and care for my patients.  I am frank.  My communication style involves providing honest assessments and recommendations with care and compassion.

Training Matters

When you seek medical care, you have the right to know who is taking care of you and their level of training.   There is a corporate push towards equating mid-levels with physicians.  We are not the same.  Here is a chart showing the difference between my level of training and a nurse practitioner in the same specialty.

The Open Payments database is a federal tool used to search payments made by drug and device companies to physicians and teaching hospitals. It can be found at https://openpaymentsdata.cms.gov.

Just wanted to add pretty pictures. =)
